” What’s messier right now — your bedroom or you computer’s desktop (or your favorite device’s home screen)? Tell us how and why it got to that state. ”
– Daily Prompt
Confession, my desktop as well as my bedroom are scattered with things. But, if I must chose, I would have to say that my desktop is in a better place because I use the things in its vicinity regularly, contrary to the things in my bedroom, although, them ending up there, started out with a good intention.
Once upon a time, I decided to clean out my closet and get rid off everything that didn’t belong in my current life. I worked through a heap of clothes and things, and donated them to some social cause. When I started working through the last round, my memory got jogged. Some clothes and stuff I held in my hand remembered me of past times and old dreams I couldn’t let go without processing them. I stacked the clothes and stuff in a corner of my bedroom as reminder to do something with them. Ahum…that was a time ago, still waiting to be addressed. This writing prompt comes in time. I remember that I’d rather spend time living in the now, creating happy blissful moments, than digesting old stuff that will disagree with me. The past can’t be changed but the future can be owned depending on how we spend it. Note to myself: get rid off old stuff, tonight.
